Sculpture
Undergraduate Program
The program in sculpture offers a comprehensive mix of theory and practice courses that help students develop a better understanding of sculptural technique and conceptual strategies. Our program has a full-time faculty of four artists with diverse sensibilities and a varied adjunct faculty comprised of prominent artists. Classes focus on enhancing skill in a range of media and balancing traditional processes with alternative interdisciplinary investigations.
Graduate Program
The three-year graduate program is limited to six students in residence, admitting two students per academic year. The area is committed to nurturing both the conceptual and technical education of the professional artist in the context of a studio environment. The area encourages excellence, critical inquiry, and an experimental aesthetic.
Students in the MFA program do the majority of their work through an individually designed program that includes one or more studio areas and coursework in art history. Many of our graduates become professional artists while others pursue college teaching, or art-related careers.
